Hello there!

I am James Lenfesty, MS, MDiv, LMHC

Many years ago, feeling led to help people, I started my professional journey. In 2006, I began a path in a direction that I was not totally aware of where it would lead. In 2011, I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from the College of St Joseph in Vermont. During this time, I grew a great deal personally and embedded myself into many different professional experiences.

Upon graduation, I had cultivated a relationship with a local psychiatrist who hired me immediately to provide Medication Assisted Therapy to patient receiving office-based opiate treatment, as well as running groups for people diagnosed with severe mental illness in aftercare. This private practice experience was a total of seven full years, seeing individuals, running multiple groups, and being the practice designated clinician for the state's opiate initiative.

In 2011, I also started a PhD program in Psychology, but quickly began to question if this was the path for me. I had sought some guidance and looked into switching my focus to theology for a balance for the clinical psychology I love so much. I found a program online from a brick and mortar school that I was interested in. After a couple of years there, the school added the Master of Divinity program that I recently graduated (Dec 2025).

In 2018, I moved to Boston for personal reasons and took a job at a mental health agency as a clinician which ended up with me moving into the Clinical Director role. During the pandemic I became licensed in Massachusetts as LMHC and left my role in order to return to private practice psychotherapy. Since this was during the pandemic, the format has been remote practice. I continue to do remote private practice and feel that this is my true calling in life.

Learning is something that I have a passion for and I participate in continuing education above what is required as well as continuing to pursue academia.
